The MG Comet turns a lot of heads and there were many people asking about the car, the pricing.

MG Comet Interior

The doors of the Comet are large and open wide. Step inside and you are welcomed by an interior quite opposite to what you see outside. The cabin is finished in shades of grey and white. The large front windshield and windows combine to give a very airy feel to the cabin. There is no centre console and you can literally slide from the driver’s seat to the front passenger seat. Useful in tight parking spots. The cupholders in front of the AC vents are nice thought. There is no glovebox, rather only a shelf to keep your phone and small tit bits. The door locks feel well finished and you do get fabric on the door pads as well. The door pockets are long and can be used by the rear passengers as well. The steering feels nice to hold and gets steering mounted controls that look very similar to the iPod Classic button layout. Looks nice in my opinion.

The biggest highlight is the set of twin 10.25 inch screens for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system. The graphics are nice with eye pleasing colours and is very easy to use. It gets the MG iSmart with connected car features and digital key sharing as well. Regular features include power mirrors, power windows, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It does miss out on some features like auto climate control, driver’s seat height adjust while the audio system gets just two speakers.

The front seats are tall but narrow. People with a wide frame might feel uncomfortable. The absence of height adjust for the driver’s seat is definitely a big miss. Headrests on the front seats are integrated. The rear seats can sit two in decent comfort and getting there isn’t an issue thanks to the tall boy layout. The front seat doesn’t tumble forward though. Senior citizens should avoid trying to get into the rear. While there’s plenty of headroom, under thigh support could be better. The seat base felt short even for a short person like me.

Boot space is virtually non existent. The little space there is taken up by the puncture repair kit and the charging cable. The rear seats can be folded in a 50:50 split if you need that space for weekend shopping at the super market.
